Job Description:

As an IT Support Technician you will report to the European IT Manager at our UK site based in Mansfield. You will be responsible for working closely with our growing business, fellow technicians and Business Analysts to implement and maintain critical infrastructure elements as well as day to day support.
There will be opportunities for you to get involved in projects and innovate. You will be a key part of a European wide IT team and thrive in delivering high-quality results in a deadline driven environment.

Job Requirements:

IT Support Technician Main duties and responsibilities

Support of all the I.T systems including, but not exclusive to:

  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and solve hardware/software issues in person, remotely and via phone
  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify clients issues
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Keep all switches/routers up to date with the latest firmware.
  • Prioritize and manage many open tickets at one time
  • Carry out day-to-day administration
  • Travel may be required in the UK or further afield as required to attend training courses or visit the other Glenair sites
  • Each activity will be assigned according to ability and training will be given to support the above tasks

IT Support Technician person specification:

Skills and knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skilled in giving ‘hands on’ support to internal customers and therefore is required to liaise with a variety of people providing various solutions
  • Attention to detail

Experience:

  • Experience of Microsoft Products i.e. Databases, Office Suite etc.
  • Working with/repairing computer hardware
  • Continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • To be prepared to undergo training as and when required
  • Ideally qualified to a minimum of BTEC Information Technology (Level 2)
  • GCSE (grade C or equivalent) in English, Maths & ICT
