Crimp Tooling Product Range
Glenair have been supporting the UK markets with connector tooling for over 30 years, and are proud to be authorised distributors for Daniels Manufacturing Corporation (DMC) and Astro Tool Corporation.
Also available is a range of pneumatic indent and open frame crimp tools that utilise standard hand tool accessories to speed up production and reduce RSI. Further tools are available for crimping #8 AWG and larger. A new range of battery operated crimp tools is also available.
Pneumatic and Battery Powered Tooling
Glenair offer an extensive range of hand held crimping tools and accessories, covering Mil-Spec (M22520) Qualified Tooling, both Indent and Open Frame, Circular Indent Tools and custom application tools for the Mil/Aero, Defence, Medical, Marine, Motorsport and Telecommunications Industry.
Our UK facility holds an extensive inventory of all common tooling, available for same-day despatch.
Glenair offers the BETA Backshell Assembly Tools, a complete line of Adapter Tools and Torque Tools for holding and torquing circular connectors during the installation and removal of accessories (backshell, strain relief, or EMI/RFI shielding hardware).
Glenair also offer a range of metal and plastic tools specifically designed to insert and remove contacts from electrical connectors, available for both front and rear release connector types.
The quality assurance test most often overlooked is retention (proper seating of contacts). The retention test tools allow this test to be performed simply and in a matter of seconds
Safe-T-Cable Fastener Retention System, designed to reduce time and money in comparison to lockwire, whilst also eliminating injuries due to sharp lockwire ends, reducing rework due to consistent tension, saving weight and reducing operator training. It is used by many OEM's, including

The Alphatron MPT-250B Tensile Tester is a portable design with a load capacity of 250lbs (1112N), with a variety of gripping methods and SPC compatible. The machine is suitable for on-site and laboratory use.
Glenair can also provide Connector Service Maintenance/Support Kits for Aircraft (Civil and Military), Avionics, Telecoms and Backshell Accessories. Kits contain all necessary tooling, instructions and application data, packaged in durable cases with protective foam cavities for each component.
Our on-site technical department can provide cross-references against manufacturers' part numbers, or determine the correct tooling for your connector. Our service can also help you to develop custom tools or kits.
Tool Repair and Re-Certification
Glenair have a fully authorised repair and re-certification department at our Mansfield base, for DMC, Astro, Band-It and Dubuis Products.
Through DMC, Glenair can offer the Ideal Industries range of Wire Strippers
