Portable Appliance Tester

Primary purpose of position

• Facilitate the Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) of all Glenair electrical equipment.
• Maintain the maintenance PAT database.
• Isolate and report all defective electrical items found during testing to the Maintenance Supervisor/Electrician.

Main duties & responsibilities

• Facilitate the daily Portable Appliance Testing of all Glenair electrical equipment (training will be given if required).
• Coordination of the Portable Appliance Testing database.
• Isolate and report any electrical failure found during PAT to the Maintenance Supervisor/Electrician.
• Undertake general electrical maintenance tasking in line with your capabilities.
• To undertake any additional duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
• To report any potential problems, concerns or areas of risk relating to health and safety in respect of yourself and others to the Maintenance Manager
• Promote and encourage interdepartmental working relationships.
• Maintain professionalism and high standards in all aspects of work and working practices whilst working on and off site as a representative of the company.
• To be proactive in identifying maintenance needs.

Person specification

• The City & Guilds 2377-77 PAT testing course is desirable.
• Basic understandable of electrical equipment and its operation
• Experience in the use of all Microsoft Office packages.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Effective communication
