Job Description:

A full time permanent vacancy has arisen within our Production Engineering Department. Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Primary Purpose of Position

Glenair UK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ancillary Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive engineering support for a range of production equipment. These include crimp machines, etching machines, laser markers, cable cut equipment, cable stripping machines and vacuum pumps among others.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance on all ancillary equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the Ancillary Department.
  • Utilise a methodical approach to problem solving to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Offer overall engineering support for the Production Engineering Department, ensuring machinery operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Work closely with other engineers and technicians to share knowledge and best practices.

Job Requirements:

Technical Expertise: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment, with hands-on experience in crimp machines, etching machines, laser markers, cable cut equipment, and cable stripping machines.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Hands-On Ability: Comfortable with stripping down machines to diagnose and repair faults.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering or a related field is desirable.
  • A recognised qualification or time served in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
