Job Description:

Primary purpose of position

To assist the Injection moulding and toolmaking co-ordinator and planner and Injection moulding and toolmaking technical Support co-ordinator planner with the efficient planning, issuing and monitoring of the production requirements within Toolmaking and Injection Moulding.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • To raise route cards that have been loaded on AX, including putting updates for the progress of the job and amend if required e.g. date changes or quantities.
  • To create parts and load on AX e.g. Toolmaking jigs to generate route cards for orders required.
  • To be able to check stock levels on jobs raised and amend if required to keep certain amount of stock required for stock management audit purposes.
  • Distribute work raised among technicians to co-ordinate each section to keep the workflow running to the best of its abilities working by due dates and priorities.
  • To manage Insert stock which has limited access for other colleagues to avoid disruption to stock levels. Distribute inserts to moulding parts using inserts allocated to specific parts. Also do regular stock checks. This also including requesting parts that are not stored at phase 7 for stock management purposes to keep things in line for auditing.
  • To request quotes from various contractors for work to be subbed out for tooling. Once best quotes retrieved, request approvals if needed and send to purchasing.
  • Keep on top of analysing the moulding/tooling parts and their previous order quantities to help the company save money by loading appropriate amounts to save time in exchanging mould tools too frequently.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have product knowledge and be able to read technical engineering drawings.
  • Must be familiar with quality control activities at both product and process level.
  • Previous experience in working within an engineering environment is desirable.
  • CAD/CAM Systems experience would be a major advantage.
